April 2012 - We have just completed construction of our “out of season spawning facility” and are currently running the first trials. This system comprises of 74sqm of tanks within an insulated enclosure where we can manipulate the environment to induce the redclaw to spawn, providing eggs for the hatchery most of the year round.
March 2012 - AquaVerde was successful in applying for a Fisheries Research Development Corporation grant to fund a 1 year project in co-operation with James Cook University. This project is designed to help improve production / reliability and efficiency in our egg incubation system.
